Literary and Slavic Society


Literary and Slavic Society - a company founded in the years 1836-1886, founded at the University of Wrocław with the task of studying and cultivating languages ​​and Slavic literature, especially Polish.

The founders and managers of the Society were: Jan Evangelista Purkyně, assisted by Wojciech Cybulski and Wladyslaw Nehring.

The Society was dissolved on 1 June 1886 on the basis of liquidation by the German Ministry of Education of all Polish university student organizations. The formal pretext of the decision was the allegation of political involvement of these associations. Bibliography
