Shimpan-daimyō


- literally daimyō from family hans (feudal domains).

The name shimpan was originally referred to as the hans belonging to the so-called. Three houses of the Tokugawa family (gosanke 御 三家):

as well as hans belonging to the so-called. kamon-daimyō (jap: 家門 大名), among others. Matsudaira (Japanese: 松 平) from Echizen (Japanese: 越 前, now in Fukui Prefecture) and from Aizu (Japanese: 会 津, currently in Fukushima Prefecture). Bibliography
