Julius Albert light


Julius Albert Licht (born 25 June 1821 in Gieshof near Wrietzen, died 28 January 1898 in Wiesbaden) is a German architect.

Civil and water engineering engineer, specialist in large structures with wooden structure. In the years 1856-1893 the city architect in Gdańsk. He supervised or designed the construction of a sewage and water supply system in the city, paving the streets and sidewalks. He was also responsible for the construction of horse tram lines, hospitals and urban slaughterhouses.

In 1871 a theater designed by Licht was built, which in 1933 burned down in a fire.

In 1893, the city council granted the title of Honorary Citizen of the City of Gdańsk to the architect.
