Prague Municipal Library (Městská knihovna v Praze, MKP) - a public library whose founding body is the capital city of Prague. Founded in 1891 by a municipal council decision as the Public Library of the Royal City of Prague (Veřejná obecní knihovna královského hlavního města Prahy).

Since 1903 its main building is located in Mariacki Square, but the present building was built only in the mid-twenties of the twentieth century. In the years 1996-1998 a thorough renovation took place.
