SPACEWAY-3 - geostationary satellite telecommunications; part of the constellation Hughes Network Systems for satellite Internet protocol transmissions. It is located above the meridian of 95 ° W. The range of activities includes continental United States, Alaska and Hawaii. The third satellite in the series. The planned duration of the ship is at least 12 years old. Originally SPACEWAY-3 was to be launched with the launch of the Zenit-3SL rocket by Sea Launch, but shortly after the crash, the satellite owner changed the carrier rocket to Ariane 5.

The ship was built on the basis of the BSS 702 - 2000 platform. The satellite is connected to the Internet using a 10 Gbps router. Solar cells, at the end of the mission, will produce up to 12.8 kW of electricity. Bibliography
