Alichan Kantemir, Alichan Gadojewich Kantemirow (born 9 May 1886 in Ossetia in Russia, died April 16, 1963 in Munich) is an Azerbaijani state activist, co-organizer and co-chair of the North Caucasus National Committee during the Second World War, Immigrant activist and publicist.
He studied law at the University of St. Petersburg. In the years 1918-1920 he was active in the authorities of the independent Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan. After its overthrow by the Bolsheviks in 1920, he went to emigrate to Turkey. He led in Ankara and Istanbul a political activity aimed at bringing together all the emigrant communities of North Caucasus. In 1934 he moved to Germany. During the Second World War he collaborated with the Germans. In 1941 he was one of the organizers of the North Caucasus National Committee in Berlin, becoming its chairman. The Committee ran propaganda, educational and cultural activities among the North Caucasus soldiers. After the war ended, he settled in western Germany. He worked in Caucasian immigration organizations. In 1954, A. Kantemir headed the editorial office of Elżbieta ("Елмеджеле"), published by the Research Institute of the Soviet Union in 3 languages: Russian, English and Turkish; He was also an editor of other writings.
