Mitumba is a mountain range in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Burundi. The highest peak is the Kahuzi, which rises 3308 meters. It is part of the African Rift Valley. Geography

In the northwest and west of the range, there is an extensive Congo Basin, and in the south-east it passes into the Marungu Highlands. In the south and south-west of the Mitumba Mountains, they are bounded by Lund's highlands in Angola and Katanga in Zambia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In the north-east of the Katanga Highlands, there is also the Kundelungu Range that connects to the Mitumba chain. Biggest rivers

The Mitumba Mountains are cut by three large rivers flowing from the south to the north: Lualaba (Upper Congo), Lufira and Luvuma. At the southern foot of the strip, its origin takes, among others. Zambezi, Kabompo and Lunga. In the eastern part of the band, which runs along the African Rift, the range extends from the east to the west. Lukuga, Elila, Lowa.
