Franciszek Grucza (linguist)
Franciszek Grucza (born May 27, 1937 in Mosty near Gdynia) is a Polish linguist, educator, full professor and member of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
President of the Polish Academy of Applied Linguistics, president of the Polish Germanic Association, former head of the Chair of Language Theory and Acquisition (no longer existing) at the Faculty of Applied Linguistics, Warsaw University.
Research interests of Franciszek Gruczy focus on issues connected with Germanism, general linguistics, onomastics and metallurgy. He also deals with the theory and practice of language teacher training.
He is the author of numerous publications in the field of glottodidactics, linguistics and translatology as well as a series of German language textbooks "Dein Deutsch". In 2003 he was awarded the Officer's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta. Bibliography
