Konrad Chmielewski


Konrad Chmielewski Konrad Chmielewski (born 1838 in Vilnius, died 10 August 1899 in Nałęczów) - Polish physician, director of the spa in Nałęczów, participant in the January Uprising, Sibir.

The son of Alexander and Pelagia Olsztyn. He graduated from the Institute of Nobility in Vilnius and the Faculty of Medicine of the Moscow University (1860). He engaged in the preparation of the January Uprising, belonging to the White Organization. In January 1862 he was arrested and sent to Wierchnieudińska, Tobolska and Tomsk. In 1867 he was allowed to return to the country.

From 1867 to 1869 he practiced in Kovel, then moved to Warsaw. Together with Fortunat Nowicki and Waclaw Lasocki, he resurrected the Nursing Home in Naleczow, where he was the director from 1886 until his death.

He died in Naleczow and was buried in the town cemetery in Bochotnica. Bibliography
