Natural Bridges National Monument
Most Owachomo w Natural Bridges National Monument Natural Bridges National Monument is an American national monument located in the state of Utah. It includes the protection of three natural rock bridges built of sandstone. The bridges were created by erosion and carry the Indian names Kachina, Owachomo and Sipapu. The largest of these is Sipapu, which is about 68.5 meters wide and 44 meters high and is one of the largest natural rock bridges in the world. The span of the Kachina bridge is approximately 58.5 meters. Finally, the smallest of them Owachomo has a span of about 55 meters and a height of 26 meters.
The park was established by President Theodore Roosevelt on April 16, 1908. The boundaries of the protected area were changed several times between 1909, 1916, and 1962. Today, it occupies an area of approximately 31 km², and many national monuments are managed by the National Park Service.
