Philip Stuart


Philip Stuart (born 1760, died August 14, 1830 in Washington, DC) is a politician and military ambassador.

As a soldier, he participated in the war for independence of the United States, where he commanded a Dragoon division as a second lieutenant. He was wounded during the Battle of Eutaw Springs on September 8, 1781. He also participated in the British-American War in 1812. As a politician, from 1811 to 1819 on behalf of the Federalist Party for four terms of the Congress of the United States, he was a representative of the first electoral district of Maryland in the United States House of Representatives.
