Stresemann (garnitur)
Stresemann version with fly Men in stroller
Stressemann was the masculine male, called "swallow" in Poland. Stresemann was created for the convenience of German politicians who had to change clothes from their office to the Reichstag. In the parliament and at the celebrations there was an impractical office coat. The new suit design that Gustav Stresemann had designed when he became a chancellor was different from the swallows only with a jacket: both of them wore tricky trousers, so that they could just change the "top" to be in another outfit. Stroller had less official character from the jacket.
Stresemann was put into operation in 1925; It consists of: black-gray trousers, black or anthracite jacket, light gray (during dark funerals) vest, white shirt, silver gray (during black funeral) tie with a tie. The jacket is single-row, the shirt has cuffs fastened on decorative cufflinks. Stresemann assumes black shoes.
During the first years of the German Federal Republic, stress was worn during state ceremonies and was named "Bonner Anzug". Bibliography
