Al-Amn al-Amm was an Iraqi intelligence agency responsible for internal security of the state, also taking part in foreign operations. The first chief of Al-Amn al-Amm was General Kzar. After his death in 1973, Ali Hasan al-Majjid was the leader. Acting until 1987. The next head of the organization was Ahmad ad-Duri, who served until 1996. The half brother of Saddam Hussein Sabawi Ibrahim at-Tikriti was replaced by him. From 1996 to the end of the dictatorial rule was Taha Abbas al-Ahababi. Bibliography
