Hemangioblastoma, a benign fibrosarcoma, is a benign neoplasia of the central nervous system (I ° according to WHO). They represent about 2% of primary intracranial tumors. The tumor usually grows in the posterior cavity of the skull, locating in the cerebellum. Rare locations are the spinal cord and brain stem. Symptoms result from increased intracranial pressure and hydrocephalus. In 1/4 patients, polycythaemia develops as a paraneoplastic syndrome. Bibliography
