Vibelius Decius became a tyrant of Rhegion over time and made contact with the Mamerites, former mercenaries of the Syracuse tycoon Agatokles. Decius reigned until 270 BC, when the city was captured after a long siege by conscript Gnejus Cornelius Bluzon's troops.
