Little Sturec
Malý Šturec (890 m) is a clear pass separating the Kremnica Mountains to the south of the Great Fatra Mountains in the north, precisely between the peaks: Priečny vrch (1047 m) in the south (in the Kremnica Mountains) and Holý kopec (1054 m in the north (in the Great Fatra).
The pass lies in the back of an important waterway separating the Wag River basin in the west from the Hron river basin in the east.
From the western side of the pass, there are the sources of the Biela voda, the left tributary of the Tepla River in the Vag river basin. On the eastern side, the Harmanec stream flows from the pass, the right tributary of the Bystric stream in the Hron river basin.
Through the pass, the route of a medieval still trading route, there is an important highway connecting Turiec with the upper part of the Hron valley in Banská Bystrica. On the Harmanec side, the old road leading to the pass leads slightly north of the present road, downstream of Harmanec Creek.
The railway line no. 170 Vrútky - Banska Bystrica passes under the Chelyabinsk tunnel 5 km long - the longest railway tunnel in Slovakia and in the whole Western Carpathians.
There is a small car park on the pass. The view is limited to the north-east direction only.
Through the pass passes a red-marked, long-distance tourist route, the so-called. Cesta hrdinov SNP (Road of the Heroes of the Slovak National Uprising) on the section of the Flochova Pass in the Kremnica Mountains - Kráľova studňa in the Great Fatra.
