NOAEL
NOAEL (no observable adverse effect level) - a term (acronym) indicating the level of exposure of the organism to a given agent, observed or determined experimentally, without any increase in the frequency or severity of any Negative effects in a population exposed to a substance compared to a suitable control sample, or these effects are biologically or statistically insignificant.
In toxicology, NOAEL is the highest dose or concentration of a substance (eg chemical) or a factor (eg radiation) for which no adverse effect is observed in the organism studied, while higher doses or concentrations cause such effects. The NOAEL value can be used to assess the level of risk of a substance being used.
