Aaron (abbot of Cologne)


Aaron (died December 14, 1052 in Cologne) - Benedictine, abbot of the Sankt Martin monastery in Cologne.

From a Scottish background, at a young age as a pilgrim he arrived in Cologne, where he settled in the Benedictine monastery of Sankt Martin, where he became an abbot in 1042. He died in the opinion of holiness. He is the author of a treatise on music, preserved in a manuscript in the library of his monastery - Tractatus de utilitate cantus vocalis et de modo cantandi atque psallendi.
