Nikolai Wwiedienski (Russian: Николай Евгеньевич Введенский, born 15 October 1885, died March 14, 1974) is a Russian physician and physiologist. In 1889 he became a professor at the University of St. Petersburg. He was a member of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He was involved in stimulation and inhibition of the nervous and muscular system. Owing to Wwiedienski, the electrophysiology of irritation developed. He used to be the first telephone receiver to detect nerve impulses in the muscles.
