Selsyn - electric machine with the principle of operation similar to an electric motor, used as a measuring and indicating device, which can simultaneously perform some work. It is composed of two windings arranged in a fixed magnetic field of the same orientation (eg vertically upwards) through which current flows. Both windings are usually separated spatially, one is located at the location where the measurement is taken, and the other is where the object is located. Changing the orientation of one of the windings causes the other to tilt. You can find eg oscillators at power stations equipped with transformers with load-to-load switching as a latching position indicator.
