Andrew Lesnie


Andrew Lesnie (born 1956 in Sydney, Australia, April 27, 2015) is an Australian film director. Oscar Winner.

In 1979 he graduated from the Australian Film Television and Radio School. He began his career on television, working in a number of productions, both television and film. In the mid-1990s he took part in two animated films: Babe - a pig with class (1995) and Babe: Pig in the city (1998). International fame brought him collaboration with Peter Jackson. Lesnie was the author of the film for the film The Lord of the Rings trilogy, and for the Fellowship of the Ring he won in 2002 Oscar. They also produced a new version of King Kong (2005).
