International Federation of Una Voce

International Federation "Una Voce" (International Federation "Una Voce") - international Catholic organization grouping associations from different countries of the world

The origins of the organization dates back to 1964, when the first concerns about the almost complete exodus of Latin and liturgical experiments in the Mass appeared. At the beginning of 1965, representatives from six European countries met in Rome. Eventually, the organization was founded on January 8, 1967, at the Zurich Convention. Eric de Saventh was the leader. The other chairpersons have been since 1992 - Michael Davies, since 2004 - Ralf Siebenbürger, since 2005 - Fredrik Crichton-Stuart, since 2006 - Jack Oostveen, and since 2007 - Leo Darroch. Since 1970, a request has been sent by the organization to preserve Mass. Pius V as "one of the rites recognized in the liturgical life of the universal Church." At the same time, they were asked to stop persecuting and discriminating against priests and lay people attached to the traditional liturgy and teaching of the Church. In 1986, after the meeting of E. de Saventhem with Pope John Paul II, he succeeded in establishing a special commission of cardinals to investigate the situation of the celebration of the Tridentine rite. In 1996, Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger in his message to the International Federation "Una Voce" stated that "she played an important role in sustaining the use of the 1962 Missal in obedience to the indications of the Holy See." I am grateful to the members of the Federation for this valuable service and blessing them " .

The purpose of the organization is to defend and promote the classical Tridentine Mass, the Gregorian chant, the sacred polyphony and the traditional Catholic heritage. It groups 30 autonomous associations from the USA, Australia, New Zealand, various European, South American, Asian and African countries. The organization is independent of the Vatican authorities but works with the Pontifical Commission Ecclesia Dei. In Poland there is the Una Voce Polonia Association, which is a member of the Federation.
