Kopidodon

Kopidodon - a type of extinct mammal. He lived in the early epoch. Description

He was like a squirrel. It was the largest populated wooded mammal of Eocene Europe, measuring 115 cm, most of which was a tail. They had terrifying canines, probably used for defense. Their molars were adapted to chew vegetable food, not meat. The claws and claws made it easy to climb the trees, as today's squirrels do. Just as they had a long tail that kept him in balance.

The remains were found in the Messel mine, where fur traces were preserved.
