Oval hole
The heart of the monthly fetus opens from the right ventricle of the heart. In the center visible oval hole.
Oval hole (lat. foramen ovale) is a hole in the heart during fetal life. It is located in the atrial septum (Latin septum interatriale). It allows blood flow from the right atrium to the left - according to the pressure gradient. It is fitted with a valve. Close
After birth, the increased left ventricular pressure closes. Usually it overgrows during the first year of life, although even non-normal (with strict adherence to the valve) does not pose a health risk because it closes blood pressure at the left atrium. Danger occurs only when it has not been fully closed and, according to the new blood pressure difference, blood flows from the left atrium to the right, resulting in pulmonary congestion and less blood in the large circulation. Normally, however, only the oval-shaped ovalis (Latin latin ovalis) surrounded by seam (lat. Limbus fossae ovalis) is visible from the right atrium.
