Robin Fåhræus


Robert (Robin) Sanno Fåhræus (born October 15, 1888 in Stockholm, died September 18, 1968 in Uppsala, Sweden), pathologist and hematologist. He was born in Stockholm as a son of Walter Fåhræus and actress Olga Kristina Augusty Björkegren. He studied at the Karolinska Institute and doctorate in 1922. In the same year he made a habilitation from experimental pathology and in 1928 he received a chair of pathological anatomy in Uppsala.

At the founding meeting of the International Society of Hemorheology in July 1966, Robin Fåhræus was awarded the first highest award by ISH, the Poiseuille medal. Selected works
