Marceli Czartoryski
Marceli Czartoryski (born May 30, 1841 in Paris, died November 25, 1909 in Lausanne) is a Polish collector. The son of Aleksandra Romuald Czartoryski (1811-1886) and Marcelina from Radziwiłł Czartoryska. On July 31, 1866 he married Zuzanna Maria de Riquet (1844-1918) in Paris, owned the forests of Wolski and Wola Justowska in Cracow. His only child was Rozalia Maria Czartoryska (1871-1891).
In the years 1870-1894 he was president of the Society of Friends of Fine Arts in Cracow. Collected with his wife a work of art, in 1872 he donated a collection of Egyptian art (including several amulets, figurines uszebti) Jagiellonian University (now at the Institute of Archeology Jagiellonian University). He financed and traveled with Milan Malczewski to Milan and Venice in 1880.
He was buried at the Rakowicki Cemetery in the Czartoryski family tomb.
