Moluskocydy
Molycocides, molluscs, cucumbers, lacquers (lat. molluscus) are synthetic or natural substances used to control molluscs, snails, mainly used for the protection of crop plants.
Active substances of many molybocytes include methiocarb or metaldehyde, which act on gastric and contact gastric. Contemporary preparations contain iron (III) phosphate, which at the same time acts as a fertilizer and is not toxic in small amounts to most other organisms. As a rule, iron phosphate-poisoned slugs bury themselves underground before they die, so that (unlike other formulations, such as those based on metaldehyde), there is no visible on the surface of the dead snails after application. Iron (III) phosphate from EDTA is used in the USA, which significantly increases its toxicity to the environment.
