Piotr was appointed to the post of governor of Athens in 1359 after the dismissal of James Jacob Fadrique, the son of Alphonsus, the prominent Governor of Athens and the son of King James. Peter, due to circumstances of his taking power, was in a difficult situation; Additionally, his ambition and overbearingness deteriorated. He quarreled almost immediately with James Fadrique. His subsequent moves caused great displeasure for the Catalans and led to a revolt led by Roger of Lluria. In 1362 he was assassinated in Thebes with his followers. In the course of the riots, some of the Venetians' possessions were plagued by the silk trade. As a result of the revolt, the rule in the Principality was taken by Jacob Fadrique. Bibliography
