Propeller pump
Propeller pump - rotary swirl pump with propeller impeller.
The propeller rotor (1) (sometimes with adjustable slope vanes) is located in the axial body (2). The flow (3), the drain (4) and the liquid flow through the rotor are axial. The liquid leaving the impeller goes to the vane wheel (5) where its angular momentum is converted into pressure energy. Propeller pumps operate almost exclusively in vertical position. Pumps have a small lifting height - usually less than 12 m and very high efficiency up to 40 000 m³ / h. Propeller pumps are used in industrial and power plants.
The energy efficiency of the propeller pump is in the range of η = 0.8 to η = 0.9.
