Team Jarcho-Levina

Jarcho-Levin syndrome - a syndrome of congenital malformations, not fully known etiology. There are two types of disease: benign, referred to as spondylocostal dysplasia (SCD), which causes certain movement and respiratory limitations, but which can be practically normal, and the heavier type, called spondylothoracic dysplasia (STD). ), characterized by narrow chest and decreased respiratory function. So far, the degree of complications has been reported to increase the risk of increased mortality among those with Jarcho-Levine syndrome. It is also possible to conceal the cleft of the thoracic-cervical spine, but due to the insignificant number of described cases, the degree of possible disability can not be generalized. The team described Saul Jarcho and Paul M. Levin of Johns Hopkins University in 1938. Bibliography
