Hugh Bradner
Hugh Bradner (born November 5, 1915, May 5, 2008) is an American physicist and inventor of neoprene foam used in water sports to protect against heat loss. He has been a professor at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography (Scripps) at the University of California, San Diego since 1961.
Bradner worked with Scripps divers experimenting with diving regulators invented by Jacques Cousteau and Emil Gagnan at the time. The first tests were conducted at the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club near Scripps. Authoritative control (person):
