Maria Pasło-Wiśniewska


Maria Pasło-Wiśniewska (born March 27, 1959 in Szamotuły) is a Polish economist, banker and politician. She was deputy to the Sejm in 2005-2007. Curriculum vitae

She graduated from Elementary School no 54 im. Jan Kasprowicz graduated from the VIII Secondary School. Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań. She then completed her studies at the Poznań University of Economics and postgraduate studies in 1989-1990 at the Kellog School of Management at Northwestern University in Chicago.

After graduating in 1983, she started working at the National Bank of Poland branch in Poznan. After three years, it was transferred to the NBP Regional Branch where it dealt with credit issues. In 1988 he was invited by the plenipotentiary for the organization of the Wielkopolski Bank Kredytowego Franciszek Pospiech to the team, whose task was to establish a commercial bank in Poznań. In WBK she worked as a director of the credit department, then until 1996 as a vice president of the board. In 1997 he was the president of the "Skarbiec" Trust Fund. At the beginning of 1998, she assumed the position of President of the Management Board of Bank Pekao S.A., with whom she was associated until September 2003.

She was twice listed on the list of the twenty-five most influential women of Europe, announced by The Wall Street Journal. In 2003, she was listed as "25 Stars of Europe" by Business Week.

She was a lecturer at the University of Warsaw and at the University of Gdansk. She also chaired the Lewiatan Confederation Advisory Board, the President of the Central European Pharmaceutical Distribution Board (CEPD), the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Polish Institute of Directors and the International Board of Advisors.

In 2005, he was elected deputy of the Civic Platform in Poznan. In the 2006 local elections, she was the candidate of the PO for the presidency of Poznan. In the first round she took second place behind former president Ryszard Grobelny, lost in the second round with 41.17% of votes.

She did not apply for re-election in the 2007 parliamentary elections. Bibliography
