paraesthesia, or opaque sensation - an unpleasant sensation, most often tingling, numbness or temperature changes in the skin (feeling hot or cold) or "running out of electricity". Parasites are most common in cases of peripheral nerve damage, but may be a symptom of central nervous system damage. Often, paraesthesia of one or more limbs, trunk, or head (face) occurs, for example, in Sclerosis Multiplex. May be one of the symptoms of hypocalcaemia and hyperkalaemia. Parasites around the incision site of pathogenic microorganisms may be present in infectious diseases: tetanus and rabies. Other common causes of paresthesia are psychiatric disorders, especially anxiety and vegetative neurological disorders, which are often confused with MS and other neurological disorders. Quantitatively, this is much more common than serious somatic illness. Parasites may also occur after taking certain medications. See terms related to medical terms and related wikipedia.
