Alice and Bob
Alice and Bob - aliases for archetypes in areas such as cryptology and physics. These names are used for convenience, as the "Person A wants to send a message to Person B" message may be too difficult to track in complex systems containing multiple levels. Further names start in alphabetical order, helping to clarify purely technical topics.
In cryptology and network security, there are many names for discussion and presentation about different protocols. These names are typical, suggestive, sometimes fun and effective as metathecontic variables. In typical implementations of these protocols, it is assumed that the actions assigned to the Alice and Bob characters would not be directly performed by individuals, but rather by automated programs such as the computer program. Character list
