Brahma Sahampati
Brahma Sahampati - is considered the supreme deity among the Mahabharas, being invisible when he attained enlightenment. Later, when the Buddha meditated in Uruveli, Brahma Sahampati added to him the courage needed to convey the Dharma to the people. According to some commentaries, he was one of the deities of Suddhavasa. He was an incarnation of a monk named Sahak, who practiced earlier in the sand of the Kaśyapa Buddha tradition. Once upon a time, he convinced a woman whose son was a monk, instead of offering Brahma gifts, gave alms to his son (who accidentally was named Brahmadeva). Saṃyutta Nikāya contains verses considered to have been uttered by Brahma Sahampati when he and Buddha accompanied him with Sakra. Brahma Sahampati was at the Buddha at his death. The verses assigned to him are collected in the Mahāparinibbāna-sutta.
Of all the Brahms, he was probably the closest of the Buddha.
