Norbert Masur


Norbert Masur (born 1901 in Friedrichstadt, Germany, died 1971) - German Jew, Leiser Masur's son, emigrated from Germany to Stockholm before the outbreak of World War II. He was the chairman of the Stockholm Zionist Association and the treasurer of the local Jewish World Congress.

As a representative of the World Jewish Congress, On 20 April 1945 Heinrich Himmler negotiated the release of more than 1000 people (mainly women) from concentration camps to Sweden. This number was negotiated up to 7000.
