Large number of robots solving one task

Swarm robotics - a concept where there is a robotic swarm of robots that are able to solve a problem together, for example by using a prototype algorithm.

While each robot can operate independently, a whole group of robots can be perceived as one large distributed processing system. Single jobs can, for example, give each other information.

An example of the application may be the search and transfer of a large object. Robots are looking for an object, each going in their direction. When one finds an object, it informs the other robots that they are heading for the robot that sent the signal. Then the whole group moves the item to the designated place. Bibliography
