Sumed
Sumed - Egyptian 320 km long pipeline linking Ajn Suchna port over the Red Sea with the Suez Gulf with Alexandria's Mediterranean port, which is 2.5 million barrels a day. The pipeline is about 115 million. Tons of oil per year is 20% of its consumption in Europe. The name comes from English from the first letters of Suez (Suez) and Medditerraneen, (Mediterranean).
The pipeline consists of two 42-inch parallel transmission pipelines, half of which is owned by the Egyptian state-owned EGPC and Saudi Aramco (15%), ADNOC (15%), OGPC (5) %) and three Kuwait companies (5% each).
Oil is pumped out of large tankers - which due to their size can not sail through the nearby Suez Canal - in the port of the Suez Gulf, and then send it to the Mediterranean port, where it is pumped to other tankers.
