Wieslaw Marian Grochowski (born January 23, 1911 in Ostrołęka, died December 18, 1994 in Warsaw), Polish Forester, Professor at the Forestry Research Institute in Warsaw, member of the Polish Academy of Sciences. He was the son of Ludwik (court official) and Mary of Grochowski (sic). A doctorate in forestry was obtained in 1951 at the Main School of Agriculture on the basis of the dissertation. Since 1971 he was a correspondent and since 1983 he has been a member of the Polish Academy of Sciences. In the years 1962-1965 he was the deputy chairman of the Forest Science Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences, then elected three times as Chairman of the Committee (1965-1974, 1977-1982, 1984-1989), and in 1991 received the title of honorary president. In 1994 the Poznan University of Agriculture awarded him an honorary doctorate.
