Fyodor Yakovlevich Alexeyev (born ca. 1754 in St. Petersburg, died 1824) - Russian painter, precursor of urban landscape in Russian painting.
Between 1766 and 1773 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg. Since 1803 he was a professor. Between 1773 and 1777 he lived in Venice, where he was influenced by Giovanni Antoine Canaletto and Francesca Lazzard Guardi. He painted primarily in St. Petersburg, but in the years 1800 - 1802 he stayed in Moscow. He is a founding member of the Russian school of vedic painting. He often painted the views of Neva and its picturesque shores. His paintings are characterized by the play of light and shadow in Venetian painting and the specific vibration of the air.
