Gunczerzewicz

Gunczerzewicz - coat of arms Łabędź. Polish nobleman ennobled in 1634. Etymology and spelling of names

The original form of the name, so-called "personal name" or "name" (as it is called?), comes from the name of Goncarzewy (the name of Gunczerzewy). "Deprivation" de Gunczerz (originally from Gunczerzewy) was initially attributed to the individual. Over time it was simplified and adopted the name: Gunczerz (for the noble state of Gunczerzewski) - belonging to his father and Gunczerzewicz - belonging to his son. "Gunczerzewicz" as a surname was assigned to the entire descendant family (in a straight line from the father to the children).

Until the mid-twentieth century, phonetics was recorded phonetically, so its name changed.

Today, the spelling of the name in Poland covers 8 cases: Goncerzewicz, Gonczerzewicz, Goncarzewicz, Gącarzewicz, Gączarzewicz, Geszewicz, Gonceszewicz, Geccerzewicz. Bibliography
