The company was founded in 1955 under the name FOREST. She was involved in the production of plastic products (polyester). In 1975 the company entered the automotive industry, changed its name to Société SIMPA (Société Industrielle de Matières Plastiques Armées) and became a subcontractor of plastic parts for Alpine and Matra cars.
