State Council (France)

Council of State (French Conseil d'État) - In the French legal order, the body issuing opinions on all bills and government decrees.

The decisions of the Council of State in this regard, together with the justifications, are published and play an enormous role in the systemic practice. This body acts as a check on the activities of the administration and is the supreme authority of the administrative judiciary.

She is formally a prime minister, but in practice she is headed by a vice-president, who (like the other members) is appointed by the Council of Ministers decree at the request of the Minister of Justice.
