The name of the aperitif, especially in France, defines a type of alcoholic drink (drink it before a meal to stimulate appetite) accompanied by appetizers such as peanuts, pistachios, and chips.

There is no one type of alcohol that can be labeled an aperitif. In different countries, however, p are different and another type of alcohol is mostly served as an aperitif.
