Agryppa V

Agrippa V, actually Gaius Julius Agrippa (born ca. 76) - questionnaire of Asian propreto.

He was the son of Alexander, the ruler of Cilicia, and Jotape, the daughter of Antiochus IV, king of Kommagena.

It is assumed that his tutor could be Babrius, the author of the fairy tales. This hypothesis is based on the fact that Babrius dedicates the second part of his work to the son of King Alexander. Agrippa V is known from the inscriptions of Ephesus (stored in the British Museum). It follows that he was a proprietor of Asia. The Governor of Asia at that time (the beginning of the second century) was a proconsul and his quorum could be Agrippa V; Because of the information in the inscription on the propreto (military authority), it is presumed that it was made shortly after the death or departure of the proconsul and before the arrival of the new one.

Further fate of Agrippa V is unknown. Bibliography
