Central Business Association for the Grand Duchy of Poznan
Central Economic Society for the Grand Duchy of Poznan, socio-economic organization of Polish landowners in the Grand Duchy of Poznań established at the congress of February 21-22, 1861. Its purpose was to promote modern farming methods in the cultivation of land and livestock by organizing experimental stations, exhibitions, meetings, discussions, tours, competitions and publishing the results in the press and magazines (major publisher: Ziemianin).
CTG has also been involved in the organization of the agri-food market and the recruitment of agricultural workers.
The President and the Central Board were headed by the branch companies with their own directors. Immediately before World War I, the company and its 14 subsidiaries had some 800 members.
