Heterochronous mutation
Heterochronic mutation - a mutation within a germ control gene that causes certain groups of cells to behave in a manner typical of another developmental stage of the organism. One analogy may be seen here with the homeostatic mutation; However, in the case of a homeostatic mutation, there is a change in the positional value of the cell, and in the case of a heterochromic mutation, something that could be called a "time value" of the cell occurs in relation to the development program in which the cell or group is involved. Caenorhabditis elegans is one of the model organisms in developmental biology. Generally, genes whose changes appear in such a way encode proteins that affect cell behavior during ontogenesis.
