OID
OID (object identifier) - A unique identifier of an object, used to distinguish an object from other objects and to create to that object by the system. The user uses the object name, and the system converts it to an identifier.
The OID concept can refer to a global tree of identifiers describing objects such as institutions, algorithms, documents, and other (OID ISO) as well as to any other object identifier, such as an application or database.
In the latter case, the OID is usually transmitted automatically by the system. It is independent of the value and attributes of the object - values may change as opposed to OID. OID is a lifelong object.
The ISO identifier tree is assumed to be global. The ISO tree starts with three roots:
The tree allocated to Poland is numbered 1.2.616 and is managed by the National Register of Property Identifiers (KRIO).
