Parable
The parable - a genre of moralist-didactic literature, whose formal qualities (plot schema, simplified character design, objective narrator, real-time selection) serve the correct reading of the allegorical or the symbolic meaning of the presented world, the transmission of moral truth. He uses a narrative in which characters and events function as examples of universal truths.
The plot is usually schematized, and the realities are in reduced form. The interpretation of the parable requires to allegorical or symbolic meanings. Parable was especially used in the religious literature of the Far and the Middle East. Many well-known parables are found in the Bible, such as the parable of the prodigal son.
Used often in homiletics and paternal literature, it inspired many writers, such as Adam Mickiewicz (Book of Polish Nation and Polish Pilgrim) or Albert Camus.
