Act on the validity of records - the Sejm's constitution of 1588 regulating the principles of legal proceedings related to the pledge of real estate without a lease. Its purpose was to secure the credit given by wealthy gentry and magnates within their state. This law was the leading mortgage law in Europe at the time, containing the main principles that later appeared in mortgage backers of the 18th century. Its drawback was that it did not introduce special mortgage accounts with a separate register for each property and showing all its rights kind. In the 17th century, the law on the validity of the records also entered the city law.
